Yesha Council Chairman and Jordan Valley Council head David Elhayani today told Kan he had heard from a senior Likud official that the Americans have set a new condition for their consent to Israeli sovereignty in parts of Judea and Samaria: A "broad national consensus."
"They mean Gantz and Gabi Ashkenazi," Elhayani clarified.
"I haven't forgotten the past president of the U.S., but with regard to the Trump outline of establishing a Palestinian terror state in the heart of Israel, maybe someone misled him."
Yesterday, Elhayani accused U.S. President Trump and his adviser Jared Kushner of showing in their plan that they are not friends of the State of Israel and do not consider its security and settlement interests.
Netanyahu came out yesterday against the Yesha Council heads, saying "President Trump is a great friend of the State of Israel, who has led historic moves in the interests of the State."
Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin called Elhayani's words impolite and irresponsible and deserving of all condemnation and disdain.
