IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi and Shabak (Israel Security Agency) head Nadav Argaman will hold a central meeting on Wednesday to discuss possible scenarios which may occur as Israel annexes Judea and Samaria, Israel Hayom reported.
The meeting, which will be held in Tel Aviv, is expected to last several hours and will include top IDF commanders, senior Shabak officials, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), and others.
Possible scenarios to be discussed in the meeting include an end to Israel's relationship with Jordan or with the Palestinian Authority, violent riots in Judea and Samaria, a new wave of terrorism, or an escalation with Gaza.
Over the past several months, the IDF has been preparing for the announcement of sovereignty, training, stocking up on supplies and weapons, increasing its coordination with Shabak and Israel Police, and other things, in addition to examining the legal aspects of what that would mean on the ground.
Meanwhile, the IDF has requested that the political echelon share its plans with the security organizations ahead of time, in order to allow the professional echelon to influence them and to allow the IDF to prepare for the expected outcomes.
Israel Hayom noted that while it is not expected that Jordan will cancel its peace agreement with Israel if Israel annexes parts of Judea and Samaria, there is concern that Jordanian King Abdullah II may need to take extreme steps in order to protect his throne.
It is also expected that Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas will not fully break his ties with Israel, despite claims to the contrary. However, the PA may face opposition in that decision, especially from Hamas.
