National Union leader MK Bezalel Smotrich on Monday worked in the Finance Committee to ensure aid to many non-profit organizations which were harmed by the coronavirus outbreak but found ineligible for aid.

Smotrich's efforts were supported by Finance Committee Chairman MK Moshe Gafni (UTJ).

On Monday, the Finance Ministry's deputy head of budget, Yogev Gardos announced at the Finance Committee meeting that the Finance Ministry will allocate 50 million shekels ($14,274,625) to aid the organizations which suffered from the coronavirus crisis but did not meet the criteria for aid until now.

Smotrich and Gafni have also agreed that the Committee will soon hold another discussion regarding the criteria the organizations must meet in order to be eligible for the aid.

In addition, there will be a discussion regarding the corrections necessary for the aid plans for employees, so that they will apply to cooperative societies as well, as part of the law to encourage employment.
