IDF soldiers yesterday afternoon dismantled a day-old outpost near Psagot, just north of Jerusalem. The soldiers were acting on eviction orders signed by Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer. Psagot residents had set up five caravan homes on Tuesday night as an "appropriate Zionist response" to the murder of their neighbors Rabbi Yosef and Chana Dickstein and their son Shuva'el some ten days before. Residents also said that the site was strategically chosen to improve security in the area and to offset the encroachment of Arab homes on lands close to Psagot.

Three families were slated to move in to the caravans prior to their dismantling. Several of the nine Dickstein orphans were manning the position when the soldiers arrived. Psagot residents said that efforts to legalize and establish the new neighborhood would continue.
