Dear Friends,

As we approach a Shavuot unlike any other, I wanted to share with you three things you can watch or print out in advance of Yom Tov which I hope will enhance your experience and understanding of this chag.

The first is a shiur I delivered earlier this week together with my friend and colleague Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis where we offered our thoughts on the subject of "A Life of Vertical & Horizontal Responsibility: Shavuot During the Coronavirus Pandemic". You can watch the shiurim below and download the accompanying mekorot here. If you prefer to print off a transcript of my shiur, you can do so here.

The second is a contribution to a Shavuot project being run by Sefaria where they have taken one of my previous shiurim called "The Torah of Truth and Kindness" and created an easy-to-follow mekorot sheet, ideal for home learning or study on Tikkun Leil. To view the shiur in English, please click here. To view the shiur in Ivrit, please click here.

The third is from our partners at Koren Publishers and Maggid Book who are generously offering a downloadable Tikkun Leil Shavuot companion that includes some wonderful and inspiring essays including an excerpt from my book "Ceremony and Celebration: An Introduction to the Holidays". To download the PDF (in exchange for an email address), please click here.

Finally, I wish you all a chag Shavuot sameach and send you my continued blessings and best wishes. Stay safe and be well,

A Life of Vertical & Horizontal Responsibility:
Shavuot During the Coronavirus Pandemic
