The United States has decided to transfer the consular and public relations department of its Jerusalem Consulate to a "safer" place. The consulate is currently located in eastern Jerusalem, only a long block away from Bar-Lev Blvd. that essentially separates the mostly-Arab populated areas of the city from the Jewish areas. The exact date of the move and the new location were not released. "Our motives are solely security-related, and we have been considering this for years," a State Department spokesman told reporters.
