Interior Minister Eli Yeshai plans to revoke the citizenship of two Israeli-Arabs, as well as the residency permit of a third, who are known to have collaborated with terrorists. The three received letters from the Interior Ministry informing them of the impending move, giving them 30 days to respond to the accusations against them.

These powers of an Interior Minister have rarely been invoked, but Yeshai told Arutz-7 today, "If we start this approach, people will think twice before engaging in terrorism… If this can prevent the murder of even one Jew, then it's worth it to revoke ten or more the citizenships."

Foreign Minister Shimon Peres objects to the move, threatening that it will not stand up to Supreme Court scrutiny. Prime Minister Sharon has expressed his support, however.
