Three of the seven murdered victims from yesterday’s deadly terror attack inside of a crowed Hebrew University cafeteria have been identified. They are Jerusalem residents David Ladovsky, 29, and Lavina Shapira, 53, and New Yorker Janis Coulter, 37.
Ladovsky, who lived in the French Hill Section of the city, very close to Hebrew University Campus, was a Foreign Ministry employee. Shapira, a resident of the Baka neighborhood, had served as the university’s Student Services Director, while Coulter was the deputy director of the school’s foreign student program. Coulter arrived in the country several days ago to accompany a group of overseas students.
Officials say that two Israelis, four US nationals and one resident of France are among the dead. Thirty-nine victims from the attack remain hospitalized. One person is listed in critical condition while twelve others are in serious condition.
In related news, Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Moshe Ya'alon have given a green light for a military response in reaction to yesterday’s attack.
