Former Police Minister Avigdor Kahalani was once again acquitted of all charges against him relating to the Nimrodi case. Kahalani, decorated for bravery during the Yom Kippur War, had been accused of leaking sensitive information in the criminal case of Ma'ariv owner and publisher Ofer Nimrodi. He was originally exonerated by a Tel Aviv Magistrates Court that ruled him innocent even before his defense had begun; the judge accepted the defense claim that the prosecution had not succeeded in making a case against him. However, the court was forced to rule on it again today after a State appeal was accepted. "It's a good thing there is a justice system in Israel," he said today after hearing the verdict. "I said all along that I was as white as snow and totally innocent."
