Eight people were lightly wounded at 2:30 this afternoon when a pipe bomb exploded inside a parked car in the marketplace of Or Yehuda. The bomb contained a large amount of nails, designed to cause maximum injuries. Police Commander Yossi Sidbon said that the car was stolen yesterday in Jerusalem. \"It was a great miracle,\" he said, \"considering that the car bomb was placed in a crowded marketplace.\" The explosion left only the car\'s chassis intact.



Several other attacks were thwarted this morning. In one case, soldiers stopped a terrorist on his way to implement a major strike; he was caught while wearing an explosive device connected to a cellular phone near the Jewish community of Brachah in the Shomron. The terrorist was taken for interrogation by the GSS.



Gadi Teneh of Itamar was shot at this morning from an Arab car that slowed down to let him pass near the Yitzhar Junction in the Shomron. Three bullets hit his car, but he was not hurt. He later told Arutz-7, \"What\'s strange is the official attitude towards what happened. One would think that the road would be closed for an hour or two afterwards, just to have the Arabs realize that something serious occurred. But nothing; after all, the only thing that happened was that an Arab shot at a Jew...\" The terrorists\' abandoned car was found a bit further away. Earlier, a roadside bomb was detonated as a busload of soldiers passed by on the new Trans-Samaria highway near Barkan. No one was hurt, but the driver recounted that the blast happened only four meters in front of him; the road was closed for an hour as the soldiers searched the area for additional explosives.



The Arab terrorists of Beit Jala were at it again this afternoon, firing light weapons at the Gilo neighborhood in southern Jerusalem. Several bullets hit a house on HaShayish St.; no one was hurt.
