The Second Television Channel Authority has announced that it would meet this week with representatives of the Advertisers Union to propose the formation of a non-binding advertising code. Correspondent Chani Luz reports that the initiative comes in the wake of the Authority\'s recent rejection of several commercials because of sexual insinuations. The goal of the code would be to formulate principles of action for the advertising industry, and to \"reach agreements that will allow creative freedom within the limits of public responsibility.\" Advertisers Union chief Avner Bar\'el said he was happy to hear of the new initiative.

Moti Shklar of Ofrah, whose appointment as Director-General of the Second Channel the government unanimously approved today, is playing a major role in the attempt to upgrade the modesty quotient in Channel Two commercials. Shklar served until now as Chairman of the Second Channel.
