The Professors for a Strong Israel released the following statement in reaction to this weekend\'s statements by Foreign Minister Shimon Peres:

\"When the Foreign Minister, architect of the 100% fiasco of Oslo, says that the elimination of a chief terrorist is a \"100% mistake,\" this sets a record for gall. When the Foreign Minister, architect of Oslo and father of the Oslo War, voices doubts about whether the Prime Minister can be a partner for peace -- while the FM\'s courtship of his fellow Nobel Terror Laureate continues -- this sets a record for cynicism....

\"Professors for a Strong Israel supports the Prime Minister and the Israel Defense Forces completely in connection with the elimination of Salah Shehadeh. We regret only that this necessary action was not taken much earlier. The putative \"humanitarian\" considerations that delayed the strike endangered Jewish lives. There was no reason to fear collateral damage to what was after all the terrorist\'s support system.\"
