Foreign Minister Shimon Peres notified Arab officials yesterday, that Israel was prepared to release NIS 200 million in withheld tax revenues to the PA. Israel put a freeze on the funds at the beginning of the Oslo War in September 2000. A meeting has been scheduled for the next few days between top Israeli and PA officials to initiate the transfer. Israel insists that the money must be used for humanitarian purposes and not to finance terror against Israel.
