As the world continues to criticize Israel for its killing of arch-terrorist Salah Shehada in his hideout amidst a crowded residential area in Gaza, the IDF released a report today detailing some of Shehada\'s recent murderous activities. He was a founder of Hamas, the commander and central figure in its military wing, directly responsible for hundreds of attacks committed against Israelis, and known to be planning further severe acts of terror.
Arutz-7\'s Uzi Baruch notes that Salah Shehada was a man who combined a social work career with ordering and helping to arrange the murder of hundreds of Israelis. Only days before his death, he was in the midst of planning to send a truck loaded with 600 kilograms of explosives to the Gush Katif musical celebrations. Unlike the Dolphinarium, Park Hotel, Sbarros, and other slaughters, he did not succeed this time.
The IDF report explains that Shehada was a main link with Hamas officials and donors abroad, led the efforts to manufacture Kassam rockets, and oversaw the production and purchase of other armaments. \"Based on his extremist Islamic viewpoint,\" the IDF report states, \"Shehada spent a lot of effort in educating and preparing the new generation of Palestinian youths in the principles of Jihad and suicide attacks... He supported them fully in this path, and even established a youth wing within Hamas that provided military education and training for youths preparing for suicide missions. Shehada also provided the principles for the religious approval for using women and young girls as suicide terrorists.\"
A religious Moslem, Shehada laid down, in an exclusive interview on the Hamas website, four main requirements a suicide bomber must meet before being sent out against Israeli targets:
* He must be a devout Moslem, perform good deeds and pray in a mosque;
* His parents must be satisfied with their child, [who] loves his family, and not be the family\'s sole supporter or an only son;
* He must have the ability to perform the mission;
* Each suicide attack must encourage others to perform such missions and to support the jihad.
It was made known today that Shehada was released from Israeli prison two years ago after signing a promise not to engage in terrorism. Lt.-Col. (res.) Meir Indor of the Terror Victims Association tells that this is not the first time genuine terrorists have been release from Israeli prison: \"The Tanzim is made up of veterans of Israeli prison, and the same with Hamas. We appealed to the Supreme Court against these wholesale releases of thousands of terrorists that were the result of the Oslo Agreements. Almost all of them returned to their terrorist activities…\"
