Israeli troops patrolling in northern Gush Katif prevented a potential terrorist attack this morning when they fired upon two heavily armed Arabs making their way towards Tel Katifa. The Arabs were killed, but not before they fired a few of their own shots, wounding two soldiers lightly and moderately.



Nearby, an Arab-launched mortar shell landed near one of the three Jewish towns in northern Gush Katif. No one was hurt, and no damage was caused. Palestinian terrorists threw several bombs and explosives against Jewish targets throughout the Shomron during the night; no injuries were caused.



A terrorist cell guilty of shooting dozens of times at residents of Chomesh in the northern Shomron over the past two years has been uncovered. The head of the ring, Sami Abdallah, admitted to police after his recent arrest that he and his cohorts had murdered three Arabs suspected of cooperating with Israel, wounded three others, and attacked Israeli vehicles dozens of times.
