Israeli troops patrolling in northern Gush Katif prevented a potential terrorist attack this morning. They saw two heavily armed Arabs making their way towards Tel Katifa, and opened fire upon them. The Arabs were killed, but not before they fired a few of their own shots, wounding two soldiers lightly and moderately.

Nearby, an Arab-launched mortar shell landed near one of the three Jewish towns in northern Gush Katif. No one was hurt, and no damage was caused. Palestinian terrorists detonated several bombs against Jewish targets throughout the Shomron during the night; no injuries were caused.
