(Updated Monday 10 AM) Minister of Industry and Trade Dalia Itzik, was able to negotiate a deal last night, to bring the nationwide flour strike to an end. Under the agreement bakeries will pay an additional 13.8% for the cost of flour. Consumers will be forced to subsidize some of those costs, by paying more for several types of bread including sliced white and rye bread, and Challah The price of a standard white loaf of bread will remain fixed at 2.60 shekels per loaf.



The country’s bread production lines had come to a standstill over the weekend, after floor mill operators went on strike in protest over the increasing costs in wheat imports.
