At a meeting of the Yisrael Beytenu party, chairman MK Avigdor Liberman spoke about the deadlock in coalition negotiations.
According to Maariv, Liberman told party members that "the last thing the State needs today is a third round of elections."
"We will see that if new elections are held, the political map will not change significantly. Therefore, we need to find an intelligent solution and leave personal considerations and egos aside.
"Bilateral progress with the Likud and Blue and White is still possible, we can progress a lot more than what we've seen until today. But if by Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement, beginning the evening of October 8) there is no breakthrough, Yisrael Beytenu will offer its own proposal to the two parties.
"In any case, from Yom Kippur, we will begin the task of forming a government in earnest."
