The Prime Minister\'s Office announced today that the ISA (the Israel Security Agency, formerly known as the GSS) and the Israel Police had arrested Jihad Shuma\'an last month. The detainee, who carries a British passport, is suspected of having been sent from Lebanon by Hizbullah to carry out a terrorist attack inside Israel. This comes on the heels of other reports detailing the increasing cooperation between Hizbullah and Palestinian elements both in Gaza and in southern Lebanon. It is suspected that one or both of the mortar shells onto Jewish areas in Gaza in the past two weeks are Hizbullah initiatives. HaModia newspaper quotes Gen. Aharon Ze’evi (Farkas), head of the army’s Technology and Logistics Branch, as follows: \"The shells are not from Hamas,\" he said, \"but rather Hizbullah. And if we’re not careful about the arms-smuggling, we’re liable to find ourselves with katyushas on Ashkelon.”
