(Updated Thursday 10 AM) PLO-leader Yasser Arafat continues his hokey-pokey style cabinet reshuffling process. Yesterday Arafat appointed former Preventative Security Services Chief, Muhammad Dahlan, as his new national security advisor. Many analysts say that Arafat’s recent hirings and firings within his PA are merely “cosmetic” and will not end PA corruption and mismanagement.
Arafat’s appointment comes despite Dahlan’s involvement in terrorism. Dahlan masterminded the November 2000 Kfar Darom bus bombing - in which Israelis Miri Amitai and Gabi Biton were killed, and three of Ofir and Noga Cohen’s children were maimed.
