The longest period of \"quiet\" since the beginning of the Oslo War over 21 months ago was marred today when an Arab was killed after another Arab pulled out a gun in the Old City of Jerusalem. The incident began when a policeman asked to check the papers of the soon-to-be terrorist. The latter quickly shot the policeman, wounding him seriously. A gunfight then ensued between the terrorist and other policemen, and by the time the smoke had cleared, the terrorist had gotten away - though he was later apprehended - and an Arab passerby was dead. Police are investigating the source of the bullet that felled him.

In another attack in Jerusalem today, an Arab stabbed and wounded a Jewish man. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in light-to-moderate condition.

An IDF force killed a key Islamic Jihad terrorist in Jenin today. The soldiers waited for him and shot him as he got out of his car. The other passengers in the car ran away.
