The Transportation Ministry has announced an overhaul of its \"points\" system, in an effort to clamp down on drivers who consistently violate road safety rules. Beginning October 1, a driver who amasses 36 points\' worth of traffic violations (about ten serious violations) within four years will have his license suspended for three months, and one who does so twice within six years will lose his license for at least nine months.
