It now appears that a suicide attack was averted in Jerusalem with the arrest of a wanted terrorist fugitive at the A-Ram junction in northern Jerusalem this afternoon. Though he had no explosives on his person, it is the appraisal of the security forces that he was on his way to commit a suicide attack. He was found carrying pictures of suicide terrorists, a pamphlet explaining how to commit attacks, and an IDF uniform.

The Egyptians spotted the men heading for the border and opened fire. After an exchange of gunfire the would-be smugglers fled, leaving behind 42,000 rounds of ammunition, 162 gun magazines and many other assorted weapons.
