Arafat\'s dismissal of Jibril Rajoub as Chief of Preventive Security in Judea/Samaria has not gone over very well. Hundreds of Rajoub supporters demonstrated against it yesterday, and particularly against Arafat\'s desire to replace him with Jenin Governor Zohair Monasra. Arafat met last night with eight of Rajoub\'s top deputies, and implied today that he had acceded to their demand that one of their number, and not Monasra, replace Rajoub.



And more on instability in the Palestinian Authority: Abas Zaki, a member of the Fatah Supreme Council and considered close to Arafat, said that the PA Chairman \"has to go.\" Zaki is quoted in the latest issue of Newsweek as saying, \"Wherever he [Arafat] went, he brought with him corruption and instability.\"
