The Supreme Court rejected this week a petition demanding the suspension of Prof. Yehuda Hiss from his position as Director of the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute. The judges ruled that Hiss might continue in his job until the conclusion of the police investigation against him. He is being investigated for removing organs and tissues from corpses without the families\' knowledge.

The Movement for Quality in Government filed the suit, following the establishment of a Health Ministry committee to investigate charges against Hiss and the Abu Kabir management. Evidence presented to the Court included an affidavit by a former Abu Kabir employee charging that Hiss had concealed evidence from the investigators. MK Sha\'ul Yahalom (NRP) said that the entire handling of the case \"is proof that the justice system in Israel has collapsed... I long ago demanded Hiss\' suspension, for fear that evidence incriminating him of removing organs and selling them might disappear.\"
