Yasser Arafat is a “pathological liar” and his role in history is over, this according to former Prime Minister Ehud Barak. Barak made his comments in a televised interview last night, his first with an Israeli station since he lost the election for prime minister to Ariel Sharon, last year.
Barak also said that Arafat would never reach a peace agreement with Israel, citing Arafat’s refusal to accept the deal put on the table at Camp David in the summer of 2000. Barak added however, that the resumption of political negotiations with the Palestinians should take place but only after a total and unconditional cessation of terror.
