Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will be convening his Security Cabinet this morning to discuss the progress of Operation Determined Stand. Since the operation began ten days ago Israel has succeeded in thwarting numerous suicide bombings.



Last night was no exception. Troops arrested a wanted Arab in the village of Yatta, south of Hebron who was planning to carry out a suicide attack in the near future. Security forces also made arrestes in Kalkilye, in the Ramallah district, and in Shechem.



In other war news, several Arabs shot and lightly wounded two soldiers stationed near the community of Ganei Tal on Israel’s southern Mediterranean coastal area. After an exchange of gunfire the Arabs fled, only to be apprehended a short time later… IDF forces operating in the Shechem district last night, safely detonated 12 pipe bombs found inside a bag… Police in Hevron succeeded in recovering over 60 Israeli vehicles stolen by Arabs from Israelis living in pre-1967 Israel… Arabs threw a firebomb at a home in the Armon HaNatziv neighborhood of Jerusalem. There were no reports of injuries.
