MK Eliezer Cohen (National Union) told Arutz-7 today about a meeting he and his fellow party MKs held today with President Moshe Katzav:

\"We requested his help in calling for an investigative inquiry into the Oslo Accords. We recall that ex-President Yitzchak Navon once initiated a similar inquiry [regarding the Sabra and Shatila massacre of Moslem Arabs by Christian Arabs in southern Lebanon], and this is why we came to President Katzav for a similar request regarding the Oslo Accords... We see that the consequences of the accords are not only that the PA is not our partner in peace, but is organizing terrorism against us - as we see that Arafat just very recently authorized a $20,000 payment to the al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades [a group that claimed responsibility for the most recent suicide attack in Jerusalem]...

\" Our feeling is that if an inquiry [the Ohr Commission] has been established into the deaths of 13 Israeli-Arabs at the beginning of this war, and similarly for the Baruch Goldstein murders, and for Sabra and Shatila - so why shouldn\'t we make an inquiry into something that led to the deaths of 1,000 people and a few thousand injured?…

\"President Katzav\'s official response to us was that unity is the most important at this point. He also advised us to enter the government and try to work from within, but we rejected this advice, because we resigned from this government for a reason...\"
