The chairman of the Jewish Home Party, Rabbi Rafi Peretz, was scheduled to meet Wednesday with the chairman of the National Union Party, MK Betzalel Smotrich. However, Rabbi Peretz cancelled the meeting at the last minute.
Smotrich arrived Tuesday evening for a meeting with Rabbi Peretz at a conference of directors of religious Zionist institutions at the Dead Sea.During the night meetings were held by the negotiating teams, but Rabbi Peretz refrained from holding direct negotiations with Smotrich.
On Wednesday morning, Rabbi Peretz paid a condolence visit to the family of Ori Ansbacher in Tekoa. He had promised to return to the Dead Sea to meat with Smotrich.
This afternoon, Rabbi Peretz held a press conference at Beit Sokolov in Tel Aviv, during which he will present Yedioth Ahronot journalist Yifat Ehrlich, who was named third in the Jewish Home Knesset list.
The third spot on the list was reserved for a woman. The Jewish Home selection committee said that "Yifat is a significant addition to the Jewish Home and represents the diverse, vibrant, ethical and religious youth of traditional and religious Zionism."
"The members of the council call on the party to preserve and ensure the position of the female representative in the top four in the list in all negotiations and agreements with other parties.

Erlich, 41, is married and the mother of five, a resident of Ofra. In the past she lived in Amona until the destruction of the houses in the outpost in 2006. She holds a BA in Physics and Jewish Thought and a MA in Contemporary Jewry from Hebrew University.
