Yesterday marked the founding of a new movement for hareidi aliyah (religious immigration to Israel), \"Right of Return,\" at a special gathering in Telz Stone, outside Jerusalem. Leaders of Agudat Yisrael were in attendance, and warm letters of encouragement from Rabbis Elyashiv, Shteinman, and Orbach, as well as the Belzer and Gerrer Rebbes, were read aloud.

Gen. Uzi Dayan addressed the audience and warned of demographic disaster and the loss of the Jewish majority between the Mediterranean and the Jordan in the coming 20 years. The movement\'s goal is to \"realize the prophetic vision of, \'The children will return to their borders,\' via the founding of frameworks and infrastructures for housing, employment, and absorption in the Holy Land.\" The founders called upon the hareidi public abroad to buy homes in Israel even if they do not plan to live in them, and to send their children to study in Israel for two years in the hope that they will want to remain.
