More than a dozen police vehicles and 150-200 policemen rained down this afternoon in the Shomron town Yitzhar, and began searching house-to-house and in the dormitory of the yeshiva high school. \"They said they had a search warrant,\" one resident said, \"but none of us saw it… They found nothing, and are now leaving. As far as I know, no one was arrested.\"
It is assumed that the searches are connected with the events that followed the quintuple funeral on Friday of four members of the Shabo family and Yossi Tuito, who were all murdered by a Palestinian terrorist the night before. Local Arabs say that Jewish residents entered an Arab village after the funeral, shot wildly and caused damage. Although the Arabs claim that one of their number was killed, they refuse to produce a body. One local Jewish resident, Y.C., has in fact been arrested in connection with the death; police will request the extension of his custody tomorrow.
