IDF forces entered Hevron early this morning and arrested 15 terrorist suspects. A tank unit is surrounding PA military headquarters in the city - the building that formerly served as IDF headquarters - and troops are searching the structure for additional suspects and weapons. Four PA para-military policemen were killed in an exchange of fire there, and several others gave themselves up. The Israelis found an explosives lab, dozens of weapons, and bomb-packs designed for suicide-terrorist use. This afternoon, a soldier was lightly wounded when a bomb was detonated against an IDF force surrounding the Hevron headquarters. IDF forces are now in control of Ramallah, Jenin, Kalkilye, Hevron, Bethlehem and Shechem.

Following a high terrorist alert in the Beit Shemesh area yesterday, police arrested five Arabs in HaElah Valley, including one from Hevron on his way to committing a suicide attack. Police said that a major catastrophe had been averted. The terrorist did not yet have the explosives, and police and GSS officials took him in for questioning.
