Herzl and Meirav Hajaj, the parents of First Lieutenant Shir Hajaj, who was murdered in the terrorist attack in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Armon HaNatziv two years ago, continue to feel the pain of the loss of their daughter.

In an interview with Arutz Sheva, the bereaved parents stated that "On the one hand, there is a feeling that the attack was just a day or two ago, and on the other hand, as if a thousand years have passed. The longing is almost impossible to bear, and there are days when we feel that there is no energy to continue. But we're persevering - we other daughters - and we're moving forward, we invest a lot in commemorating Shir."

Hajaj and his wife devote a considerable amount of their time to the constant struggle over the treatment of terrorists and their families by law enforcement authorities.

"There are Jewish lawyers and associations that support the terrorists, help them and want to protect them and provide them with legal assistance at our own level, and we have to change the situation," he said.

"We go to the committees and in the title you hear a 'denial of civil rights' and then the prosecution comes to the committee and removes all the content from the law. We have nothing against the left or the Arabs. We are against the terrorists and the extremists, and it is against them that we will fight," said Hajaj.

The bereaved father spared no criticism from the Supreme Court and its decisions on the subject of the treatment of terrorists.

"There are comprehensive laws that allow them to be expelled and to demolish their homes. Our main problem is the High Court of Justice - I feel that the High Court is the executive arm of the leftist and terrorist organizations," said Herzl Hajaj.
