Arutz Sheva spoke with Colonel (Res.) Sharon Gat, a counter-terror expert and the director of Caliber 3 training complex in Efrat, about the security situation in Israel.
“I think the IDF today should keep [taking initiative] in Palestinian villages and cities in order to stop the terror in a very aggressive way, without letting terror even raise its head, and that should be constant - not as a response to a terror attack, but a constant act against Palestinian terror every day, every hour, every month, every year,” Gat said.
Gat explained that he tells his students , “First of all, know your weapons, be professional, and be safe with the weapon, be aggressive toward your enemy, and once you’re attacked, or if even if you think you’re going to be attacked - don’t wait. Don’t hesitate. Go forward, and finish your enemy.“
Gat said that tourists who come to Caliber 3 consist of “Jews and non-Jews” who “love Israel and love the IDF. They believe that Israel is the only state, or maybe one of two states - Israel and the US - that is really fighting terror today in the world, and that we are leading the fight against evil here in Israel. We are here in Caliber 3 to give every Jew and friend of Israel the feeling that he’s part of this country and this country is protecting every Jew around the world and every Jew can feel safe.”
“I invite all Jews and friends of Israel to come here to Caliber 3 to learn more about Israel and the IDF, and to understand how complicated life here in Israel is, and how we are fighting Israel daily here.”
