Top Palestinian Authority (PA) official Hussein al-Sheikh met on Monday with the head of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), Nadav Argaman, and senior defense officials to discuss ways to reduce tension in Judea and Samaria, Kan 11 News reported.

According to Palestinian Arab sources, PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas instructed the PA security forces to maintain security coordination with Israel.

The report further said that Jordan and Egypt were involved in attempts to bring an end to the terror attacks throughout Judea and Samaria which, according to all assessments, are being carried out under the direction of Hamas in Gaza.

PA sources claimed that Abbas demanded an end to the demolition of homes of terrorists as a condition for calming the area.

The PA chairman is scheduled to visit Amman on Tuesday, where he will meet King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss the situation in Judea and Samaria.

Last week, Abbas ordered the rebuilding of the home of the terrorist who murdered Ronen Lubarsky which had been demolished overnight Friday.

A day earlier, PA security forces cracked down on Hamas protesters in Hevron and beat them using batons.

Despite the crackdown on Hamas on Friday, however, Abbas’ Fatah faction had days earlier praised Hamas terrorists who were eliminated by the IDF.
