The IDF continued to operate in Jenin today. The forces blew up one large explosives lab, leading to the collapse of the entire building, the death of one Arab, and the wounding of several others. In Jenin, the army fired two mortar shells at a suspicious group of Arabs violating the curfew, killing three civilians. The IDF is investigating the incident.

Doctors in Soroka Hospital in Be\'er Sheva continue to struggle to save the life of an IDF soldier who was wounded in a battle this morning near Netzarim in Gaza. He was very seriously wounded when a Palestinian-launched RPG mortar shell hit his outpost. Further north, at the Erez Checkpoint, a terrorist threw grenades at IDF soldiers, killing two Arabs. The terrorist was shot and killed, and no other casualties were reported.

Prime Minister Sharon will convene the security cabinet in Tel Aviv this afternoon to approve additional IDF offensive activities. Though several ministers are calling for the total take-over of PA areas, Foreign Minister Shimon Peres says that no such plan is being considered. Minister of Public Security Uzi Landau (Likud) called for the immediate eradication of the Palestinian Authority and the expulsion of Yasser Arafat. Landau had sharp words for government members who \"continue to explain the actions of Arafat and the PA.\"

The government will re-consider, in its next meeting this Sunday, the route of the anti-terrorist wall/fence. The current plan is that the partition will run more or less alongside the Green Line (the armistice line of 1948), with minor changes in various places. The western Shomron community of Alfei Menashe, for instance, is to be included \"inside\" the fence. At Sunday\'s meeting, Minister Effie Eitam (NRP) will introduce an alternative route formulated by MKs Uri Ariel (National Union-Yisrael Beiteinu) and the Likud\'s Eli Cohen (two of the three newest Knesset Members). The new proposal would place the fence several kilometers east of the Green Line, and would basically isolate not the Jewish communities but the Arab cities.
