The cornerstone for a new community in the Gilboa Region - north of Shomron and west of the Jordan River - was laid today in an impressive ceremony. The name of the new town is still up in the air; it will be either Yitzpor, named after the stream that runs below it, or Michal, after the daughter of King Saul. Mt. Gilboa, where the king and his son Jonathan met their deaths, already has two other communities named after King Saul\'s offspring: Meirav and Malkishua, as well as Kibbutz Maaleh Gilboa.
Some sixty religious and non-religious families have already signed up to live in Michal/Yitzpor, which will be an ecological town: Its sewage will be recycled, there will be no asphalt roads, no concrete castings, and the like.
