Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev claimed this morning that the publication of the recommendations to indict the prime minister and his wife at the present time is connected to the date of the resignation of Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh.

"Police Commissioner Alsheikh continues to do everything so that the door-slamming when he leaves the job is as strong as possible," Regev said.

"After trying to sabotage the appointments of those from the recommended candidates for the position of police commissioner, he continues to look for the headlines," added the minister of culture.

"On the day he took office, Alsheikh promised that Israel Police would cease publishing recommendations on investigations. Even on the day he left, he proves that he has no word - not only did he not keep his promise, he is doing exactly the opposite."

Regarding the recommendations, Minister Regev said: "I trust the prime minister and his wife, they are straight and honest people who place before themselves the best interests of the State of Israel and its citizens. The time has come to stop hanging elected officials in the city square. Prime Minister, continue to be strong, and succeed.”
