Work on the partition designed to keep terrorists away from most Israelis was stopped today, following this morning\'s attack on a Border Guard force guarding a construction crew at the Salam Junction. The incident, which took place east of Um el-Fahm, involved an exchange of fire for 5-10 minutes, and Israeli forces are now in pursuit of the terrorists. A bomb was found elsewhere along the planned route of the wall this morning.
Military historian Dr. Aryeh Yitzchaki, speaking with Arutz-7 today, said that the fight against terrorism can be accomplished by following these steps:
\"First of all, by declaring the PA an enemy, and throwing its few dozen leaders out of here - this very week. The next step is tactical: to get [capture or kill] the Hamas leaders, those who dispatch the terrorists. They are also not a large number, certainly not more than a few hundred. The army started doing this against the Tanzim in Operation Defensive Shield, but was forced to stop in the middle for political reasons. Defensive Shield should have continued for eight weeks, as originally recommended, and not two weeks. The operation this time must be long-running, for a few months, at various levels of intensity. Finally, we have to get to the basic foundations of suicide terrorism. It is scandalous that a mother announces that she has sent her son to commit an attack, and that nothing is done to the family. The house must be destroyed, and the family must be deported… We have to work according to their mentality, and this is the language they understand…\"
