Israel has responded to yesterday\'s attack so far by taking over positions in Jenin and Kalkilye, and capturing four wanted terrorist fugitives in Jenin, three in Shechem, and four in the Hevron area. The Israeli forces were met by Palestinian fire; no one was hurt.

The mini-cabinet comprised of coalition party heads decided last night that Israel will respond to every terrorist act by capturing areas under Palestinian Authority control. Prime Minister Sharon and security heads also decided last night on other measures, and considered deporting Arafat or totally destroying his headquarters compound in Ramallah. Leading the camp of those espousing a militant line against Arafat are IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Sha\'ul Mofaz, his future successor Maj.-Gen. Moshe Yaalon, GSS head Avi Dichter, and other IDF Generals.
