The death toll from this morning’s suicide bombing aboard a Jerusalem bus has risen to 16. Yasser Arafat’s Fatah Tanzim has taken responsibility for the attack. At this time it is believed that the Arab bomber entered the city this morning, from the PLO-controlled Bethlehem district, just south of the city.
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon arrived at scene of the attack about an hour after the blast. After witnessing the carnage firsthand, the Prime Minister made the following comments to reporters:
“ The horrific pictures from this murderous act carried out by Palestinians, the horrific images that we see here, are more powerful then any words. It is interesting what type of Palestinian state they have in mind, what type of Palestinian state they are talking about. This terrible thing that we see, is a continuation of Palestinian terror, and it is against this terror that we must fight and struggle, and this is what we will do.”
