An indictment against a Tel Aviv woman was recently submitted to the Nazareth Magistrate's Court. The prosecution claims that the woman broke into the “good deeds house” in Afula which was built in memory of Gabi and Rivki Holtzberg, murdered about 10 years ago in the Chabad House attack in Mumbai, India,.
The indictment alleges that the burglar emptied the charity boxes of monetary contributions intended to help the elderly in need, Yediot Aharonot reported this morning.
Some time later, the defendant broke into another site that deals with acts of kindness: a center of the International Fellowship of Jews and Christians in Afula, which provides care for the elderly during the daytime. There, too, a window was shattered to enter.
That same day the accused continued the theft campaign, smashed a glass door of a minimarket with a stone, went inside and stole snacks. An hour later she was arrested by the Afula police.
The report said that the investigation revealed that a few months earlier she had also stolen a cell phone from a woman. When the woman put down the phone during a security check at the entrance of a local Afula shopping center, the accused grabbed the phone and fled.
