Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) on Sunday morning responded to reports that Israel had reached a ceasefire with Hamas.

"There's no ceasefire," Ariel said. "To our great dismay, this hasn't ended, [rather,] it's barely started. It's time to finish it. The diplomatic echelon needs to give the order, and the IDF will do the work."

"The Cabinet needs to tell the military echelon to bring Hamas to its needs. There needs to be defeat, not acceptance."

When asked whether he was surprised that Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) flags were flown at a Tel Aviv protest, Ariel said, "I wasn't surprised, but I was disappointed and saddened."

"Those who protest in Tel Aviv and Israel flying PLO flags are...backing the enemy who burns fields in the Gaza border area and injures and kills soldiers."
