(Updated Tuesday 10 AM) Israel continues to operate in PLO-controlled Ramallah. Thus far soldiers have detained 52 Arabs suspected of being involved in terrorist activity. Among those arrested were Arabs about to launch suicide bombings in nearby Israeli cities.

Soldiers in Ramallah discovered two cars laden with powerful explosives. Also in the vehicles were Israeli identification cards and official Palestinian Authority documents. In addition, soldiers yesterday shot and killed a Palestinian policeman who had fired on their position.

In other war news, troops continue to operate in other areas throughout Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza). The IDF has imposed a curfew on the PLO-controlled town of Tul Karem, east of Netanya, and surrounding villages. Troops are carrying out searches in the area, following warnings that Arabs from that region were planning to carry out suicide attacks.

In Gaza last night, troops shot and killed a Palestinan man who opened fire on an Israeli vehicle. No injuries were reported to the car’s occupants. The gunman was found to be carrying several hand grenades, as well as ammunition and weapons.
