Another chapter of Hatzalah (Rescue), modeled after the Hatzoloh emergency medical crews in the U.S., was dedicated in Gush Etzion yesterday. It follows the establishment of Hatzalah headquarters in Efrat, Kiryat Arba, Hevron, and southern Mt. Hevron; another one is scheduled soon for Beitar Illit. The goals of Hatzalah are clear: to provide first aid as fast as possible to Yesha residents for whom stoning attacks, and even worse, are daily fare. The Hatzalah volunteer crews work in tandem with the Magen David Adom first-aid and ambulance teams, as well as with the police and army. They often arrive first on an emergency scene, and notify Magen David Adom of the situation. Funds are being sought to provide similar services in Shomron.
