A few major attacks were thwarted in Gaza over the weekend. Two terrorists were killed while placing a very large bomb north of Sufa in Gaza on Friday night…. Five mortar shells were fired towards Gush Katif over the night, and another one this morning; no one was hurt… IDF helicopters fired at PA targets in Gaza, near Morag, last night, and other IDF forces made house-to-house searches in Dir el-Balah… A soldier in Gaza was shot in his chest this morning and is listed in moderate condition; it is suspected that the shot was accidental and came from a fellow soldier… IDF forces have arrested nine wanted terrorists since last night in Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. At least two of them were on their way to attack a Jewish community...



IDF troops opened fire at terrorists swimming their way to the Gush Katif community of Dugit off the Mediterranean coast on Friday night. Both terrorists were killed, but so far only one body has been recovered. On the body were found an AK-47 assault rifle, four fragmentation grenades and ammunition.



Hizbullah, apparently looking for any excuse to escalate hostilities along Israel\'s northern border, fired anti-aircraft fire at Israel Air Force planes this morning near Metulah, and another volley over Nahariyah. In the first incident, falling shrapnel caused a fire. The planes had taken off only 30 minutes before they were shot at. No one was hurt.
