A headline in yesterday\'s report wrongfully implied that Holland had banned *all* shechitah (kosher slaughter of animals). The article itself noted that slaughter of \"cows\" is no longer permitted, but in fact this must be further qualified to say that only the slaughter of \"large bulls\" is no longer permitted.

Furthermore, the Jewish Community of Amsterdam has informed Arutz-7 that it is in fact \"fighting\" the new regulation, and that its representatives are \"protesting fiercely against [this] change of attitude towards shechitah, which has a 365-year old history in Amsterdam.\" The Jewish Community of Amsterdam states that the Dutch Department of Agriculture has broken its promises to allow shechitah to continue uninterruptedly, and that it has been in contact with officials on this matter for several months.
