Professor Ephraim Inbar, the president of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategic Studies (JISS), spoke to Arutz Sheva about the meeting which took place last week between US President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

Prof. Inbar called the meeting in Singapore "political theater at its best."

"Two people who are totally unpredictable met, and it attracted the international attention. All the world media were there, and in this respect for them it was a successful meeting," he said.

"It remains to be seen whether the agreement they reached will be really implemented.

He dismissed concerns that Trump had given a brutal dictator legitimacy by meeting with Kim Jong Un. "American leaders have met worse dictators in the past, like Stalin. And many of America's allies are not the most liberal figures in the world."

Prof. Inbar said that the meeting was warranted even if a final agreement is not reached, because the denuclearization of North Korea is an important goal "that has ramifications over nuclear proliferation all over the world."
