The chairman of the 'Meoraiv Yerushalayim' faction, Evyatar Elbaz called for a boycott of the music festival planned by the Knesset in two weeks' time, due to the absence of singers and haredi and religious artists on the artists' list.

"We read in Yedioth Ahronot that the Knesset is planning two white nights of performances and dances for the 70th anniversary of the state in two weeks' time, but the organizers have forgotten to include religious or ultra-Orthodox singers or creators," said Elbaz.

"The Speaker of the Knesset claims that the Knesset belongs to the electorate and the event will bring together all the branches of society. It's a shame that he and his production partners have forgotten three sectors - the haredim, the religious, and the Arabs - who also do not have a singer [to represent them].

He called on the Knesset to correct this oversight and add haredi, religious, and Arab singers to the event. "If they do not do so, I call on the public and especially the religious and haredi public to boycott the event and to bring the organizers an account on election day."

"It hurts me especially that two of those responsible for the production of the event - Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein and Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Zeev Elkin - wear kippahs but do not thing about community. I guess we're fine and they only remembers us when an election is near."
