The father of a graduate of the Bnei Tzion pre-army preparatory academy, where ten students were killed in a flash flood in the Arava region last week, said that this was not the first time that the school had endangered its students.

In a conversation with Guy Peleg at 103 FM, the father slammed the preparatory program and its leaders and said that he himself had heard about trips the school took which were dangerous.

"I know and appreciate the director of the preparatory program," the father stressed, but added, "There line between arrogance and caution blurry. If the line is already blurred in the preparatory program, what will happen afterward in the army?"

"For almost a year and a half of my daughter's studies at the preparatory school, I lay awake at night with worry, and I accompanied my daughter on many of the trips," he said.

The father added, "We, as parents, have met more than once to talk about the dangerous trips which the Mechina takes our children on, and we always heard these lies that everything will be all right."

He stressed that the parents have a responsibility to ensure that school does not put their children in danger. "I myself blocked the buses with my body and prevented them [from leaving for the] trips."
